As a Sharpening Technician at Hessing, you are the sharpest link in our production process. You ensure that all cutting equipment and machines are in top condition by maintaining, replacing, and advising on blades and key mechanical parts. With your technical insight and teamwork, you help create a safe, efficient, and smoothly running operation—day in, day out. Good work!
About the function
Every day, you make sure that our knives, cutting equipment, and machines are in optimal condition, keeping operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. With flexible hours across four shifts, you’ll enjoy a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same—and where you can maintain a healthy balance between work and private life. Your responsibilities include:
- Replace worn blades, gears, V-belts, and bearings
- Check machines and tools to make sure they work safely
- Advise when machines need extra maintenance or repair from outside experts.
- Find solutions and contact the correct person in case of issues
The warehouse does not stop, running 24/7. The working times are:
05:45 to 14:30
13:45 to 22:30
21:45 to 06:30
On Sunday night you start at 18:00 until 02:45 (the rest of the week: 21:45)
What we need
You have a vocational (MBO) level of thinking and working, with good technical insight.
You are flexible and comfortable working in different shifts in a cool/fresh working environment.
You stay calm under pressure and work in a goal-oriented way.
You speak and understand English and/or Dutch language
You have your own transport, so you can always arrive on time.
What we offer
- Bruto salary of €2.528,31 per month based on 40h per week
- Extra allowance of 25%/hour after 19:00 and of 40%/hour after 23:00
- A flexible job with 3 shifts
- Travel compensation till 30km distance
