About the function
As a Laboratory Technician, you are responsible for processing and evaluating vegetable seed and tissue samples in a laboratory setting. You perform analytical tests to detect and assess plant-related pathogens while ensuring accuracy and consistency in results. You work strictly according to established protocols and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Proper documentation and timely reporting of results are a key part of your role. You will work independently while also collaborating closely with colleagues across the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ELISA analyses to detect and quantify viral antigens or antibodies.
- Prepare and process seed and tissue samples following established protocols.
- Apply sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
- Comply with GLP, ISO/ISTA, QMS, and HSE regulations.
- Conduct quality control activities to ensure reliable and accurate test results.
- Register results accurately and ensure data availability in SAP.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and support quality certification requirements.
- Manage laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Register non-conformities and document Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Train and support new colleagues or interns in laboratory procedures and safety standards.
What we need
- MBO Level 4 or HBO degree in laboratory technology or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory or production environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality- and safety-focused mindset.
