About the function
As a Cargo Agent at Schiphol, you play a key role in keeping import and export processes running smoothly. The pace is high and accurate work is at the core, especially with customs and dangerous goods. Your main tasks:
- Processing freight documents: you handle acceptance and enter them accurately into our system
- Checking shipments: you carry out thorough checks so every shipment meets the requirements and rules
- Preparing customs documents: you help draw up the right documents so import and export run without delay
- Handling dangerous goods: you take care of shipments containing hazardous materials
- Liaising with airlines: as a point of contact, you provide information on shipments and answer questions
- Desk work with drivers: you process their documents and ensure smooth cooperation
- Preparing flights: you oversee the process and make sure flights are fully ready for departure
You work in a three-shift rotation, so the operation runs 24/7:
- 06:30 – 14:30
- 14:30 – 22:30
- 22:30 – 06:30
What we need
- You have relevant administrative experience
- You work accurately and with a service-oriented, no-nonsense mentality
- You are flexible and willing to work in shifts (day, evening, and night)
- You are available on weekends
- Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- You can obtain a Certificate of No Objection (VGB), which we will apply for on your behalf. This requires you to have been registered within the EU for at least 8 consecutive years.

- € 17.99 to € 23.14 gross per hour (including a 2.5% year-end bonus)
- Allowances for evening, night, and weekend shifts from 125% to 140%
- Public holiday allowance of 200%
