About the function
In this role you will be responsible for the support of Processing Research in Vegetable Production activities such as seed treatment, coating recipe development, sample preparation and (field) data collection according to work plan prepared by the Processing Research scientists.
Processing Research tasks:
- Assist scientists with seed technology experiments, both in laboratory, field as well in the seed processing operations
- Collect and analyze trial data and prepare shipment of seed samples to seed physiology / seed health testing labs
- Work in close collaboration with the scientists to conduct own experiments
Production Research tasks:
- Help prepare fields, plant seeds, care for crops, collect data, and harvest
- Pack and ship seeds and samples with the right documents
- Use research equipment in the lab and on trial fields
Working Hours:
- Full-time: 38 hours/week Monday - Friday
What we need
- BSc degree in (plant) biology, (seed) physiology or related field
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal
- Motivation and good attention to detail
- Expertise with general laboratory practices and sterile techniques
What we offer
- Gross hourly wage from € 18.95
- Travel allowance of € 0,23 per km
- 8.33% holiday pay + 25 vacation days/year
